Rams' Aaron Donald: 'Only thing' missing from HOF résumé is Super Bowl win

The Los Angeles Rams and star defensive tackle Aaron Donald last played for the NFL championship in Super Bowl LIII, where they fell to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Donald and company have an opportunity to return to the big game by defeating the rival San Francisco 49ers in Sunday's NFC Championship, and the 30-year-old's legacy has become a hot topic heading into that showdown.

Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris commented on Thursday that "we want to win for Aaron Donald," an eight-time Pro Bowl selection who has won Defensive Player of the Year honors on three occasions and is a seven-time First-Team All-Pro. While Donald likely would prefer to remain focused on the task at hand, he also couldn't help but think about what two more wins would mean for his status among the all-time greats of the sport.

"It’s just trying to find a way to win," Donald remarked about the upcoming matchup against the Niners, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "It’s trying to find a way to get back and accomplish something I never accomplished before. I don’t know what it feels like to win the Super Bowl. I know what it feels like to be there, but I don’t know what it feels like to win. I feel like I accomplished a lot in a short amount of time in this league. The only thing I’m lacking now is being a world champion. To get to that point, we’ve got to win this week."

The 49ers have owned the Rams as of late and won the last six showdowns between the clubs. Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay insisted earlier this week San Francisco has no mental advantage heading into the weekend, but one can't help but wonder if the Rams will fall apart if they trail early or surrender any type of lead during Sunday's outing.
