Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey underwent shoulder surgery Tuesday and is expected to be ready to return in time for the start of the 2022 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Ramsey, 27, had tears in both of his shoulders during the 2021 season, according to Rapoport, but was never sidelined by the injuries. The only game he missed was in December when he was placed on the reserve/COVID list.
On Tuesday night, Ramsey posted a photo with his family on Twitter and appeared to be wearing a sling supporting his left arm.

Ramsey began his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars after he was picked fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his fourth season with the team, Ramsey requested a trade and was sent to the Rams for two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder. In 2020, Los Angeles signed Ramsey to a five-year, $105 million contract extension.
Last season, Ramsey earned his fifth trip to the Pro Bowl and his third spot on the first-team All-Pro list. He recorded four interceptions on the year, tying a career high.
