Rams' Andrew Whitworth says he, entire family battled coronavirus

On Friday, veteran Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth said that he and his entire family tested positive for the coronavirus this offseason.

Whitworth broke the news during an NFL Players Association media call.

As Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, ESPN's Dan Graziano and others tweeted, the 38-year-old four-time Pro Bowl lineman believes the outbreak started with one family member.

Whitworth added that his father-in-law was hospitalized for a time.

In April, Rams center Brian Allen became the first known NFL player to test positive for the virus.

Training camps are scheduled to open to all players on July 28. The NFL and NFLPA continue to negotiate terms for the safe opening of those camps.
