Davante Adams played a key role in the Los Angeles Rams’ 42-26 blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The three-time All-Pro wide receiver registered six receptions for 77 yards (both team-highs) and one touchdown.
Adams, however, was unable to finish the game after sustaining an injury in the fourth quarter. After initially being tagged as questionable to return, the Rams ultimately decided to rule the 32-year-old out for the remainder of the game. L.A. head coach Sean McVay spoke to reporters after the game, and he provided an important update on their star wideout following the injury scare.
Adams has played nine games for the Rams this year since joining the team as a free agent in the offseason. The six-time Pro Bowler took his talents to Southern California after putting pen to paper on a two-year, $46 million deal.
Including the Niners game on Sunday, Adams has registered 42 catches for 568 yards and nine touchdowns.
In his postgame press conference, McVay shared an injury update on their star WR. According to the Rams coach, Adams suffered an oblique injury during the game, per NFL.com. The silver lining, however, is that McVay revealed that Adams could have potentially returned if the game had been closer.
The Rams, who have now stacked up four straight victories, will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 17, for a Week 11 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Based on McVay’s postgame update, it appears that Adams has a good shot of playing in that one.
The Rams improved to 7-2 after Sunday’s victory. They are tied with the Seahawks, who also secured a 44-22 win on Sunday over the Arizona Cardinals, for the top spot in the NFC West.
