The Rams are among the teams beginning to thin out their rosters in advance of tomorrow’s deadline for cuts down to 53. Per the transactions wire, these players have been let go:
Released:
Waived:
Placed on IR:
Fox signed with Los Angeles on a one-year deal this offseason. None of his scheduled 2026 compensation ($1.15MM) was guaranteed, though. The Rams will save that amount with this release. Fox, 28, will immediately hit the open market.
The same is true of Rice. His $1.08MM cap charge for 2026 will come off the books. Rice will also not be subject to waivers, leaving him free to sign with a new team at any point. A practice squad deal allowing the 27-year-old to remain in place with Los Angeles early next week may also be in store depending on how the team’s LB setup shakes out.
With Caldwell being moved to injured reserve without a ‘designated for return’ placement, his season is over. The rookie saw time at Texas in 2025 before going undrafted in April. Caldwell (along with a number of other players listed above) was part of the Rams’ UDFA class for 2026. Members of that group are also candidates to land a taxi squad opportunity with the Rams in the coming days.
