The Los Angeles Rams will gather their 2025 roster at Loyola Marymount University this coming week for training camp. One analyst, however, believes the franchise should make room for one free agent defender and past rival.
USA Today NFL columnist Nick Brinkerhoff wrote down the Rams as a fit for linebacker Kyzir White. The same White who piled 137 total tackles last season for the Arizona Cardinals.
The 29-year-old White remains an unsigned free agent with teams preparing to report for camp, including the Rams. Brinkerhoff, however, believes White can fill a big need for teams needed LB depth. All the more reason why he mentioned the Rams by dropping this take.
"White has bounced around in the last few seasons, playing for the Chargers, Eagles and then Cardinals. He found a home in Arizona over the last two years, but has produced for every team," Brinkerhoff wrote. "A 17-game starter with 137 tackles in 2024, White is a capable linebacker that has flown under the radar. The 29-year-old could be a nice addition for a linebacker-needy team at this stage of the offseason."
The Rams aren't the only franchise he mentioned as a fit for White. The Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers rise as two more potential suitors.
White indeed has performed at a high level when on the field. He once tallied 144 tackles in L.A. before -- during 2021 with the Chargers. And that Bolts team was led by former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.
The 6-foot-2, 234-pounder then produced 110 tackles in 2022 with the Philadelphia Eagles during their NFC title run. That Eagles team fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. He eventually joined his old Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon in Arizona for the past two seasons.
The Rams still head to LMU with a questionable LB room. Sean McVay and defensive coordinator Chris Shula may need to trust day three NFL Draft pick Chris Paul Jr. right away. The Rams only list for true inside linebackers for '25 including Omar Speights.
