The Los Angeles Rams are preparing to make another potential playoff and NFC West Division Title run this season with Sean McVay back at the helm of the ship and quarterback Matthew Stafford returning for his 17th NFL season and fifth with the Rams franchise.
The Rams' receiving corps is looking strong this season with Puka Nacua preparing to take a leap forward and Davante Adams coming over from the New York Jets to add a long missing deep threat for Stafford and the Los Angeles offense.
On Sunday, Rams coach Sean McVay spoke with reporters during which he had choice words on a Rams rookie, unheralded draft choice who could make fans stand up and take notice based on his recent play in practice.
"He's doing a great job...You see him making a lot of plays, he's mature rookie, he's a guy that's wired to separate, I think he's catching the football really well, he's really smart and conscientious, you know, he's moving around, can do a lot of different things," McVay said about rookie seventh round pick Konata Mumpfield from the Pittsburgh Panthers.
"You're right, he's one of the guys who has really shined with those younger guys," McVay added on Mumpfield. "And, he continues to be able to just answer the bell with the opportunities he's gotten, and I think Stetson (Bennett) has done a nice job being able to get the football to him, but I've been really pleased with him, he is, he's doing a heck of a job," McVay added.
The Rams' preseason opener is Saturday, August 9 against the Dallas Cowboys at home.
