Rams’ Cooper Kupp admits LA leaving Aaron Donald’s locker ‘open’

The Los Angeles Rams bowed out in the playoffs against former QB Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in what would prove to be DL Aaron Donald’s swan song in Los Angeles, and the National Football League. The abrupt retirement of one of the NFL’s best pass rushing interior linemen of all-time caught fans, media and coaches alike off-guard, and led to a scenario in which Cooper Kupp of the Rams is not quite 100 percent ready to move on.

The news of Kupp’s thoughts on the subject came during a proclamation of the one free agent who was undrafted but could still make the Rams’ roster. Meanwhile, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife spoke out about a controversial speech by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker recently.

With Donald no longer in town, Kupp made an admission that may provide clues as to how his former Rams teammates feel about his sudden departure.

Rams’ Kupp Makes Stunning Donald Admission 

Kupp, arguably the favorite target of Matthew Stafford depending on who you ask and Puka Nacua’s standing, had a stark admission on the absence felt by the Rams missing Donald’s presence with the team. The news was shared by reporter Bridget Condon on X.

“Cooper Kupp told me they still have Aaron Donald’s locker up and ready ‘if he ever wants to come back’ and that he’s going to keep saying these ‘backhanded comments in the media…I’m so happy for him… but if he ever wanted to come back he’s more than welcome.'”

Kupp and Nakua are expected to form one of the most potent one-two punches in the NFL with Stafford at the controls of Sean McVay’s offense. Blake Corum of Michigan has been added to help in the running game alongside potential rising star Kyren Williams.
