The Los Angeles Rams field top talents at multiple positions on the field. But what about for entire units?
One positional group earned top 10 praise Tuesday. Especially after dealing with a key departure, but also luring in a prized free agent addition.
Pro Football Focus unveiled its list of the league's best wide receiver units from No. 1 to 32 on Tuesday. Los Angeles didn't fall dead last. But the Rams did manage to break inside the top 10.
PFF writer Trevor Sikkema placed the 2025 Rams WR unit at No. 8 overall heading into the upcoming season. Here's the reason behind the ranking.
"Puka Nacua was the NFL's highest-graded receiver in 2024 (92.5), marking his second straight season with an elite mark. The Rams added to their room with Davante Adams and still roster Tyler Higbee, Jordan Whittington, TuTu Atwell, all of whom earned PFF receiving grades above 73.0 last season," Sikkema wrote.
The Rams relied on their air attack to spearhead the NFC West title run of last season. Los Angeles ranked 10th overall in passing offense. And this was a WR unit dealing with injuries.
Nacua wasn't available early in the season and made his debut against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 24. He still led the Rams with 79 receptions for 990 yards.
Longtime leading wideout Cooper Kupp also was missing in action for five games. Kupp caught 67 passes for 710 yards and scored six touchdowns. Demarcus Robinson led L.A. with seven touchdowns. But both are playing for NFC West rivals now -- as Kupp signed with the Seattle Seahawks and Robinson to the 49ers.
Adams' arrival, though, fuels new optimism for another Vince Lombardi Trophy chase. The Rams swooped up a six-time Pro Bowler this offseason. He's helped persuade the top 10 ranking for this WR group.
