The Rams play on turf in Sofi stadium, and many other teams do as well. According to Pro Football Sports Network, 15 NFL Stadiums use turf while 15 use natural grass. Some of the stadiums that use turf include MetLife Stadium, where the NY Giants and Jets play, Mercedes-Benz (Atlanta Falcons), U.S Bank Stadium (Minnesota Vikings), and many others. While teams like the Kansas City Chiefs (Arrowhead Stadium), Green Bay Packers (Lambeau Field), Arizona Cardinals (State Farm Stadium), and a plethora of other teams play on grass.
With some NFL stadiums being turf and even some being grass, often times they’re used multi-purposely such as concerts and other events. It may seem to be a bit easier for the turnover when it’s turf.
A few NFL players went on social media to talk about turf fields, given that New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers tore his ACL against the LA Chargers in Week 4 at MetLife Stadium. During the game, Former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. said on X:

The turf vs grass argument has been in sports for quite some time, as players tend to get hurt on both surfaces, but some lean toward being the main culprit, and others toward poor running mechanics or just freakish plays where someone gets injured. A multitude of athletes have said that it’s easier for ligaments and joints to give way on turf rather than grass with some people’s feet getting stuck in turf while being on grass it may seem less likely.
Is the problem turf, grass or running mechanics? Let us know.
