Rams HC Sean McVay gives positive injury update on star receiver

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay gave a positive injury update on star wide receiver Cooper Kupp on Friday.

Kupp has missed the first three games of the regular season due to a hamstring injury and will be out for the team's Week 4 contest against the Indianapolis Colts as well. The 2021 AP Offensive Player of the Year suffered a season-ending high ankle sprain in Week 10 of the 2022 campaign but still paced Los Angeles in receptions (75), receiving yards (812) and receiving touchdowns (six).

Following a season-opening road upset over the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams have lost back-to-back games against the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals, though by just 10 combined points.

With a healthy Matthew Stafford back under center, the offense has looked surprisingly decent.

Sans Kupp, Stafford has turned to rookie wideout Puka Nacua time after time through the first trio of contests.

Nacua has been doing his best impression of the Super Bowl LVI MVP, racking up an absurd 30 receptions for 338 scoreless yards on 42 targets. The 22-year-old unsurprisingly leads the Rams in all three categories and is second in the NFL in receptions and fourth in receiving yards.

It'll be interesting to see how the targets get divvied up between Kupp, Nacua and others once the superstar 30-year-old returns to action.
