Rams intend to sign HC Sean McVay, GM Les Snead to extensions

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is just 36 years old but raised eyebrows before the Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals when he teased he could ride off into the sunset and retire from coaching if he added a title to his already-impressive résumé amid rumors that a television network such as ESPN could woo him with a major offer.

It appears Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff isn't prepared to lose McVay just yet.

According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Demoff commented at the league's annual meetings that both McVay and general manager Les Snead will put pen to paper on new contracts soon. Both have two years left on their current deals.

"They have an amazing working relationship," Demoff said of the duo. "You’d be foolish, when you look at how hard it is in this league to win, not to try to keep together a pair that’s done it really well."

Demoff assured fans last month that McVay "was ready to go defend our title" after the coach guided the Rams to a second Super Bowl appearance in three years. Snead, meanwhile, has been quite busy attempting to lock three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald down on a new deal that will reward him for his stellar play but also allow the Rams to keep a championship-caliber roster through the rest of Donald's prime.
