Matthew Stafford is an ageless wonder.

And Pro Football Focus knows it to be true. After turning back the clocks during the 2023 season, Stafford was in the top 10 of the outlet's most recent quarterback rankings.

Stafford was ranked No. 7, behind names like Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers.

For full disclosure, PFF's rankings were broken into several different categories: Mahomes, the elite, postseason caliber QBs, the melting pot of starters, can singlehandedly win and lose games, the next generation, and the holdovers.

Stafford's No. 7 ranking placed him in the postseason-caliber slot.

I would argue that Prescott and Herbert aren't better than Stafford. However, that isn't how Pro Football Focus saw things shake up.

Here is what PFF had to say about Stafford's abilities:

"Something something about fine wines getting better with age. Stafford had a fantastic season at age 35. His 83.8 passing grade in the regular season ranked seventh in the league, while his 32 big-time throws were the fifth most and his 2.1% turnover-worthy play rate placed second, behind only Prescott.

"Stafford has long had one of the best arms in the league, and even if that total arm talent is going down slightly, he’s making up for it with wisdom, creativity and craftiness."

Stafford has all the tools to have a productive 2024 season. The Rams boast one of the most versatile offensive units in the league.

Behind Cooper Kupp, Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua, Stafford has the tools to bring the Rams back to the playoffs and maybe even win a game.
