The Los Angeles Rams look like one of the top teams in the NFC through seven weeks of the NFL season. A major reason for that is their quarterback, Matthew Stafford.
Stafford had a superb performance Sunday in Los Angeles' 35-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, one that produced a bit of history.
According to Rich Eisen on the broadcast, Stafford became the first player to throw five touchdown passes in an international series game.
Stafford accomplished the feat with a one-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams late in the fourth quarter, the third touchdown connection between the two in Sunday's win.

We noted that Adams accounted for three of the five touchdowns, and the other two recipients may be some of the more unknown players across the league.
Rookie receiver Konata Mumpfield hauled in the first touchdown of the game while Terrance Ferguson had a touchdown reception sandwiched between the three scores for Adams.
For both Mumpfield and Ferguson, the touchdown receptions were the first of their careers and just the second catch of the season for both.
After Sunday, Stafford now has 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the season. He also leads the NFL in passing yards through seven weeks.
He is headed toward the best season of his career at age 38, and with continued production like he is giving, Stafford may be the front-runner for MVP at season's end.
