We're still in the early stages of NFL training camp, but the Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams are dealing with some injury concerns over starting quarterback Matthew Stafford.
It was reported Tuesday that the Rams were managing the one-time Pro Bowler's workload this summer as he battles an injury in his right elbow. More details regarding the ailment came out on Thursday.

That will limit his throwing in practice.
Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic explained that there may not be cause for concern yet, as the issue is a familiar one with the team's coaching staff.
I think a few things are true about this Matthew Stafford/arm situation and it’s worth laying out the context as things *currently* stand https://t.co/y8Ex9gpqXl pic.twitter.com/xY7bwOkX9x

A lot of times seeing “QB - ARM” incites panic but I’m just not personally there *yet* because of the context from last season and because we can’t know what we don’t know about how the management plan will work but I’m probably just shouting into the void at this point

Stafford is coming off a 2021 campaign in which he matched his career highs in completion percentage (67.2%) and passing touchdowns (41), while finishing with 4,886 passing yards and a league-high 17 interceptions as well. He added a 70% completion percentage for 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns against three interceptions in the playoffs as well.
Entering his 14th NFL season this fall, Stafford signed a four-year extension reportedly worth $160 million with $135 million guaranteed in March.
