Sunday was a loss for the Los Angeles Rams , but some positive news did arise throughout the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers: the emergence of running back Darrell Henderson Jr.

Following the injuries suffered by running backs Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers last week against the Arizona Cardinals, the Rams were forced to make some roster moves, one of which involved Henderson. For a back who had only been on the roster for a few days, he found a prominent role in the L.A. offense on Sunday afternoon.

Henderson did not lead the team in rushing yards, but he was close behind Royce Freeman (66 yards) with 61 yards on the ground. Henderson also provided a touchdown in the rushing department that, at the time, gave the Rams a 17-10 lead with 8:57 left in the third quarter.

Henderson is a Mississippi native who spent his college days with the Memphis Tigers. He was selected by L.A. in the third round of the 2019 draft, and he stayed with the Rams until the 2022 season when he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Now, he finds himself back in L.A., and it could not have come at a better time for both parties involved. Henderson will be looking to revive his NFL career, and his first team happens to need production at running back. A match made in heaven?

Maybe that's taking it a bit too far, but the point remains that Henderson is a capable back who can help stem the tide felt by the Rams until their running back duo returns to the field. For now, that's all you can ask.
