The Los Angeles Rams are set to regain a key offensive weapon, as star receiver Puka Nacua is expected to return in Week 9 following an ankle injury. Nacua missed the last two games after suffering the injury in Week 6 when he landed hard on his left ankle during a contested end-zone play against the Baltimore Ravens.

Head coach Sean McVay confirmed the positive update, telling reporters that Nacua would return to practice on Wednesday. NFL insider Adam Schefter further confirmed that the rookie sensation will be active for the Rams’ upcoming matchup against the New Orleans Saints. “I expect both Puka Nacua and Rob Havenstein to return to practice this week and play in Week 9,” McVay said.

Through six games, Nacua had already established himself as one of the NFL’s most productive receivers. He recorded 54 receptions for 616 yards and two receiving touchdowns, along with 52 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. PFSN’s WR impact metrics rated him with a score of 96—an A grade—placing him among the league’s most effective receivers prior to his injury hiatus.

Despite returning briefly in Week 6, Nacua was unable to make a significant contribution, underscoring how pivotal his full return will be for the Rams’ offense.
