Rams Sign Cornerback Zech McPhearson

The Los Angeles Rams signed cornerback Zech McPhearson, who most notably is a former fourth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021.

The move came after the Rams waived undrafted rookie cornerback Drey Norwood with an injury designation.

McPhearson played in 33 games (one start) over his first two seasons with the Eagles, but hasn’t seen the field since 2022. He most recently was part of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad in 2024, but spent all of last year without a team.

McPhearson will likely compete for a spot on the Rams’ practice squad this season and potentially opportunities elsewhere if he gets cut. He should get plenty of opportunities during the preseason as L.A. tends to rest their starters.

With training camp now in the books, the Rams will participate in a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys before beginning their preseason schedule against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

The Rams will then take part in a joint practice with the New Orleans Saints before playing them in Week 2 of the preseason. They will then end their exhibition schedule with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

2026 Rams gameday giveaways announced

The Rams announced their gameday giveaways for the 2026 season, which include a replica championship ring and beach towel, as well as special ticket packages that can be purchased.

Fans in attendance for the Rams’ home opener against the New York Giants on Monday, Sept. 21, will receive a beach towel that commemorates the team’s 1951 world championship season.

Then for the Rams’ matchup with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, Oct. 12, fans will receive an exclusive rally towel that celebrates Matthew Stafford’s 2025 NFL MVP season.

L.A.’s giveaway schedule continues on Sunday, Oct. 18, when they host the Arizona Cardinals. The first 60,000 fans in attendance at SoFi Stadium will receive a replica championship ring to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win.

Rounding out the gameday giveaways is a jersey rally towel modeled after the Rams’ 1951 championship yellow uniform. It’s a celebration of the franchise’s past with the modern tweak of their new alternate ‘Classic Sol’ uniform. Fans can take home this piece of Rams history when the team faces the Chiefs on Thursday, Dec. 3.
