Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is hoping to continue his historic start to the 2025 season Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
Nacua was sensational for the Rams last Sunday, hauling in 13 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in a 27-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. In four games this season, he has 42 receptions for 503 yards. As you'd expect, he leads the league in both categories.
“There’s a feel that he has on game day that, man, this guy’s taking his game to a different level,” Rams coach Sean McVay said, via the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t even think you can appreciate it when you are watching it on film unless you are physically present or actually trying to feel what that feels like in the moment.”
Unsurprisingly, Nacua was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following his performance against the Colts.
If Nacua has eight receptions or more against the 49ers, he'll become the first player in NFL history to have at least 50 catches through the first five games of a season.
San Francisco's defense will try to slow down Nacua this evening at SoFi Stadium, but there's no guarantee that'll happen. For what it's worth, Robert Saleh's defense is giving up just 18 points per game.
The 49ers and Rams will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
