Rams to Acquire Former Patriot in Free Agency Expert Prediction

NFL free agency is rapidly approaching, and the Los Angeles Rams have already started making significant moves to reshape their roster, most notably securing Matthew Stafford for two more years.

Pro Football Focus, known for its in-depth analysis and player evaluations, has released the "perfect" free agent for each team to sign in the coming weeks.

With their offense largely settled—aside from the ongoing Cooper Kupp saga—the Rams are expected to focus on bolstering their defense in free agency.

The former New England Patriots standout cornerback, Jonathan Jones, would be a terrific fit to move out to Los Angeles and join McVay's Rams.

At 31, Jonathan Jones remains a highly effective Cover 3 cornerback, ranking 14th among qualified players according to PFF. His skill set aligns perfectly with the Rams' defensive scheme under coordinator Chris Shula, making him an ideal candidate to strengthen their secondary.

While Jones hasn't recorded an interception in the past two seasons, his consistent coverage skills and experience make him a valuable asset for any defense.

A new look for Jones in a defensive minded Rams team could benefit him greatly, and would pair up nicely alongside Darius Williams.

Williams and Jones would form a formidable pair in the secondary, with Jones's skill set complementing Williams's playmaking ability. Together, they could provide stability in coverage and leadership for younger players entering the rotation.

As the legal tampering period begins Monday, followed by the official start of free agency on Wednesday, the Rams will look to solidify their roster and address key defensive needs.
