Rams trade second-year tight end to Packers

The Los Angeles Rams recently wrapped up their 2026 preseason slate with a win over the hometown friend Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 20-18. The Rams will now turn their attention to the upcoming regular season, which is filled with Super Bowl expectations after some of the moves Los Angeles made this offseason.

On Sunday, the Rams made another move in the trade market as the season quickly approaches.

“Sources: The #Rams are trading TE Mark Redman to the #Packers. Former Louisville star was an undrafted free agent in 2025 who spent last year on LA’s practice squad,” reported NFL insider Jordan Schultz on X, formerly Twitter.

As Schultz noted, Redman didn’t get the chance to contribute at the full NFL level for the Rams last year, but he is still a promising young prospect who should help out the Packers this year. At this point, it’s unclear what exactly the Rams got back in the trade with Green Bay.

The Packers have made a series of moves of late, including trading for Pittsburgh Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson in order to brace for a possible Josh Jacobs suspension.

Meanwhile, the Rams have some questions about their depth at wide receiver and tight end this year, but clearly, those concerns weren’t enough to convince the team to hold onto Redman.

In any case, the Rams are set to get their regular season underway on September 10 with a game against the divisional rival San Francisco 49ers, which will take place overseas in Australia.
