Rams Wide Receiver Room Ranked Top 5 in NFL

“Puka Nacua is another guy who is arguably the best in the NFL,” Jared Dubin wrote. “Davante Adams quietly slipped as a downfield threat last season, though he masked the decline by catching a million short-yardage touchdowns, and he should remain a high-level red-zone threat. They just brought Tutu Atwell back, too.”

Nacua, 25, is certainly in the best receiver discussion. Last season, he led the league with 129 receptions, adding 10 touchdowns and finishing second in receiving yards (1,715) behind Seattle Seahawks’ Jaxon Smith-Njigba. After the season, he finished third in the AP Offensive Player of the Year race.

Entering a contract season, Nacua has stayed sharp and focused on football while his legal process plays out. Whether his record-setting deal comes from the Rams or elsewhere, the dynamic receiver will certainly get the money he deserves.

Nacua isn’t the only Rams receiver coming off a big season. Adams, 33, enters his second season with the franchise fresh off leading the league in touchdowns with 14. The veteran has been just as sharp during camp, appearing virtually uncoverable against the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. His chemistry with reigning MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford has been strong, too.

Adams, one of the more experienced veterans on the roster, has also taken younger players like Nacua under his wing, something head coach Sean McVay has praised the three-time All-Pro for.

Behind that duo, the Rams addressed their depth Thursday, bringing back receiver Tutu Atwell in a trade with the Miami Dolphins and sending running back Jarquez Hunter in return. The No. 3 receiver spot has been a question mark since Atwell left for a $1.4 million deal in free agency.

Atwell is not a blockbuster addition, but the speedy receiver is a familiar face after spending five seasons with the team that drafted him in 2021, and he gives the Rams another downfield threat.

Nacua and Adams led that passing attack, the best in the NFL last season. With Atwell back in the mix, the Rams have a chance to repeat that success.
