Rams WR Puka Nacua sets rookie record for receiving yards, recpetions
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Rams rookie receiver Puka Nacua etched his name in the NFL history books on Sunday. With his performance against the San Francisco 49ers, Nacua broke the single-season rookie record for both yards and receptions.

The previous receiving yards record, set by Houston Oilers receiver Bill Groman in 1960, had stood for more than six decades. Nacua surpassed Groman’s 1,473 yards with a six-yard catch in the third quarter. He entered the game just 29 yards shy of breaking the record and so far has four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.

For the season, Nacua leads the Rams with 101 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. He ranks fourth in the NFL in receiving yards as well as eighth in receptions.
