We're on from No. 7 to No. 6 in ranking our quarterbacks that the Chiefs will face during the 2025 season. Kansas City has never beaten this QB, 0-2 against him all-time. Let's take a closer look. . .

No. 6: Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff

Goff is often left out of the elite tier of QBs, but his statistics tell a different story. He has thrown for over 4,000 yards in each of the past three seasons, increasing his total each time. In 2024 he threw a career-high 37 touchdown passes, while completing an incredible 72.4 percent of his passes.

Goff resurrected his career with the Lions after the Los Angeles Rams gave up on him after the 2020 season, trading him in exchange for Matthew Stafford. The Rams selected Goff with the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He had some big years in L.A., throwing for over 4,000 yards twice and leading the Rams to Super Bowl LIII, falling short to the New England Patriots 13-3.

His rookie season aside (which he only started seven games), Goff has consistently been a winner. He compiled a 42-20 record as the Rams' starter from 2017-2020, and has a 39-25-1 record since taking over at the helm for Detroit. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and led the Lions to an NFC-best 15-2 record last season. However, they were upset by the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Goff and the Lions will travel to K.C. to face the Chiefs in Week 6 on Sunday Night Football. He is 2-0 in his career against the Chiefs, with his first victory over them coming in a legendary 2018 shootout when he was with the Rams. L.A. edged out K.C. in an epic Monday Night Football matchup 54-51, as Goff threw for 413 yards and four TDs.

Goff's second win over the Chiefs was in the 2023 season opener, topping them 21-20. He had a solid outing with 253 passing yards and one TD. From the Chiefs' perspective, they had an unreal eight dropped passes during that game, and would go on to lead the NFL in drops that season. Hopefully K.C.'s offense can execute more efficiently next time around.
