Ranking QBs Chiefs will play in 2025: Kansas City's defense could put on dominant display vs. either a rookie or an old foe

We continue ranking the quarterbacks that the Chiefs will face in 2025.

In our previous installment, we identified the weakest QB that Kansas City will play during the regular season. This time around features another matchup that the Chiefs' defense should get the better of, with the potential to dominate. Let's take a look. . .

No. 13: New York Giants QBs Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart

While Wilson is the favorite to begin the season as the Giants' starting QB, I'm going to also include Dart just in case. New York selected Dart in the first round (25th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he is undoubtably its QB of the future. The question is, how soon will that future come?

The Giants' ideal scenario is Wilson playing well enough that Dart can sit the entirety of his rookie year. However, Wilson is a game manager at best in this point of his career, and he tapered off significantly in 2024, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to four-straight losses to finish out the season.

Jameis Winston is also in the fold at QB for New York, and could be the next man up over Dart if Wilson struggles or gets injured. The only problem with that is, Winston hasn't played great as of late either. Last year with the Cleveland Browns, Winston compiled a 2-5 record as a starter and threw 12 interceptions on the season.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities that Dart outperforms both Wilson and Winston during training camp and preseason and wins the starting job right out of the gate. Dart was a bit polarizing as a prospect coming out of Ole Miss, but clearly the Giants believe in him.

The Chiefs will travel to New York to face the Giants in Week 3 on Sunday Night Football. Whether they face Wilson or Dart, K.C.'s defense should be able to keep either of them limited. Last season it held Wilson to just 205 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interceptions in a matchup against Pittsburgh.
