Green Bay Packers news: Rashan Gary is officially back. Nearly a year after tearing his ACL, the Green Bay Packers defensive lineman made his much-awaited return to the field in Monday’s training camp session. This was a long time coming for the 25-year-old, and now that he’s back, Gary is determined to make up for lost time.

Green Bay Packers News: Rashan Gary Sends Stern Reminder Ahead of New Season

Gary spoke to reporters after Monday’s practice and one of the questions he was faced with was whether or not he would require any preseason reps before the new season started. The former Michigan standout clapped back with a mic-drop statement:

Have you seen me in the preseason last year? Or the year before that?” Gary said, via Bill Huber of Packer Central.

Well, he’s not wrong. Despite his lack of time on the field last season, the one thing you can say about Rashan Gary is that he has not lost a bit of confidence — and this is exactly why Packers fans have been longing to see him back out there.

Green Bay Packers News: Rashan Gary just happy to be back

Don’t mistake his unwavering self-belief for arrogance, though. For his part, the former first-round pick is well aware of the fact that he’s blessed to have the opportunity to return following a career-threatening injury:

“Words can’t express the feeling of the journey and what I’ve been through,” Gary said after practice. “For those who’ve been around me during these couple months and knowing the hard work that I’ve been putting in, they know. I just want to give all my glory to God.”

At this point, Gary is now moving closing toward his goal of being in the starting lineup when the Packers take on their age-old rivals, the Chicago Bears, in Week 1. The Green Bay star knows that all his hard work and sacrifices over the past months is now paying off.

“That would just be a testament to my hard work and just me checking off the boxes day in and day out and just squeezing out everything I can in each day,” he said.
