All signs were pointing to Rashee Rice being among the top receiving threats in fantasy football. Unfortunately, his legal issues will likely impact where he is drafted for the 2025 season. Looking at just the football side of things, though, Rice is capable of going long and turning catches into touchdowns almost anytime he touches the ball. Even if he won’t be playing for the entire season, he should be stashed somewhere on a roster in every league.
Of course, it’s hard to gauge how well Rashee Rice did in 2024 since he only played so little. The sad thing is that he was on pace for an amazing year. Out of the three games where he played the whole way, Rice had over 100 yards twice.
He amassed 24 receptions over those three games, which basically proves that he was going to be Mahomes’s number one target before his injury. Averaging 16.2 fantasy points after only playing three games is also no small feat. If he stayed healthy, Rice could have been at the top of many receiving categories.
Projecting Rashee Rice’s stats is very difficult, seeing as, at the time of writing, Rice pleaded guilty to his traffic violation in Dallas. He will be suspended for at least some games, but the exact number of games is uncertain. As a result, Rice’s ADP should drop to where he might not even be rostered in some leagues. In cases like that, it’s usually good to check his availability two weeks before his suspension is over.
If he’s available, then he should be picked up because he will have top 15 WR value for the games he plays. Otherwise, just because of his upside, it may be worth throwing a late-round pick for Rice, since once he returns, he should be a dominant force.
