Ravens Accused Of Lying About Lamar Jackson Injury

NFL fans were convinced Lamar Jackson would return to action for the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, but that won't be the case.

Jackson has missed the past two games for the Ravens due to a hamstring injury. He was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice though, which led many to believe he'll suit up for Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately, he was ruled out by Baltimore's staff this Saturday afternoon.

Not only was Jackson ruled out for the Bears-Ravens game, his status for Friday's practice was changed from full to limited.

With Jackson ruled out, the Ravens will start Tyler Huntley at quarterback. He appeared in five games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, racking up 829 yards through the air and 135 yards on the ground.

Did the Ravens lie about Lamar?

As you'd expect, the NFL world is a bit confused by the last-minute change to Baltimore's injury report. Roughly 24 hours ago, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Jackson was a full participant in practice.

"He had a full practice today, so that was good," Harbaugh told reporters. "We'll see where we're at going forward."

Countless people are demanding answers from the Ravens this Saturday.

"Horse s--t to label him full practicing with the scout team. Now they changed his status from yesterday," Aaron Leming of BearReport wrote.

"It’s one thing to rule a guy out on Saturday. That happens. But changing his practice status a day later is odd," NFL analyst Adam Hoge said.

"I would also like to update my work status on Friday from full participant to a DNP," Ian Haritz replied.

"Even if they were lying originally it’s so weird not to just label it as a setback to the injury and instead change yesterday’s participation after the fact," another person commented.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Ravens had Jackson taking scout reps on Friday. That's why he wasn't a full participant.

Jackson is expected to play Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins, but there's no guarantee that'll happen.
