Lamar Jackson is dealing with an ankle injury following the Baltimore Ravens’ disappointing 32-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. The two-time AP MVP entered that game with a toe injury, which he was able to play through. Jackson logged 17-of-32 completed passes against the Bengals for 246 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.
The plan is for Jackson to bounce back in Baltimore’s next game, which comes in the form of a divisional rivalry matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The ankle issue, however, has added a bit of a cloud over his availability for that game.
Jackson was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice due to the ankle injury. He was forced to sit out practice on Thursday, which added further doubt on his status for Sunday’s game. The good news, however, is that Jackson is still expected to be available against the Steelers.
Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken spoke to reporters following Thursday’s practice, and he had a positive update on Jackson’s status.
“I mean, he wasn’t out there today,” Monken said. “I would expect Lamar to play on Sunday.”
Ravens OC Todd Monken said he expects Lamar Jackson to play on Sunday.

While there is no guarantee that Jackson will suit up against the Steelers on Sunday, this statement from Monken appears to indicate that the four-time Pro Bowl QB is trending in the right direction. His status for Friday’s practice should be a good indicator of his final status for Sunday’s contest.
The Ravens enter Week 14 with a 6-6 record. They currently hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC North, but the Steelers have the same record. Sunday’s game will have a significant impact on the playoff race for both teams, and Baltimore will need its franchise quarterback to be ready to play in what will be one of the biggest games of the season for the team.
