Ravens' coach John Harbaugh acknowledges 9/11 tragedy

The first NFL Sunday of the 2022 season was a significant date: Sept 11, the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. After the Ravens defeated the New York Jets 24-9, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh acknowledged the tragedy.

Harbaugh credited the first responders of both New York and Baltimore, including the police department. As first responders dedicated their lives to the tragedy, the presser was the immediate platform to acknowledge and pay tribute to the fallen.

There are moments where sports are bigger than athletic showcases or entertainment, and Harbaugh knew this. With a historic date that holds a somber memory for most, especially those in the New York area, Harbaugh acknowledged a moment that Americans will never forget.
