Ravens DC offers fascinating quote about facing Bills' Josh Allen
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens routinely leave opposing defenses struggling to find a way to stop quarterback Lamar Jackson’s incredible dual-threat ability. Now set to face Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the shoe will be on the other foot.

Before Sunday’s matchup against the Bills, Baltimore’s defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale was asked about Allen’s game. He delivered a fascinating comparison, telling reporters that Allen’s mobility and size make it feel like players are tackling a tight end.

At 6-foot-5 with a 4.74 40-yard time, the comparison certainly makes sense. While Allen continues to develop as a passer, he continues to run through opposing defenses with 430 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground this season.

Sunday’s head-to-head clash between Jackson and Allen will be a battle between the two best running quarterbacks in the NFL. Given both teams have aspirations for a first-round bye in the playoffs, that spot might be decided by the team that does the best job containing the other dual-threat quarterback.
