The Ravens’ offensive line was dealt another blow on Sunday when Vega Ioane exited with a knee injury. The first-round rookie is set to miss time.
Ioane is dealing with an MCL sprain, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report. A long-term absence is not expected in this case. Even so, losing Ioane for any period of time will be acutely felt on a Baltimore O-line which has been hindered by injuries all season.
The unit’s interior in particular has been in constant flux. Center Danny Pinter was moved to injured reserve before the start of the year, while replacements Jovaughn Gwynn and Ethan Pocic have since each suffered season-ending injuries of their own. That required Ioane – who was drafted to exclusively play guard – to move inside, with the possibility emerging that he would remain at center for the rest of the campaign.
Instead, the Ravens swung a trade with the Eagles for Cam Jurgens. The two-time Pro Bowler’s debut with his new team was delayed by a concussion, but Week 7 saw him handle center duties. That allowed for Ioane to return to right guard. Those two will be in position to spend plenty of time together moving forward, but for now Baltimore will need to rely on another new combination up front.
Emery Jones Jr. filled in for Ioane on Sunday. The 2025 third-rounder will now be in line to occupy a starting role for the time being. Jones, 22, made just five appearances during his rookie season but he has already logged 223 offensive snaps across six games in 2026. Depending on how long Ioane is sidelined, a run of starts will now be in store.
