With the holidays just around the corner, Ravens (11-3) head coach John Harbaugh revealed his Christmas list ahead of the team's Week 16 matchup against the 49ers (11-3). There are only two things he wants this year, but they won't be easy to come by.
"World peace and a win. How about that?" Harbaugh said. "I'm not sure in that order or not."
They may just be the two steepest gifts he could ask for this year, but it makes sense a win on Monday night could be at the top as it would almost cement Baltimore as the AFC's No. 1 seed.
The Miami Dolphins (10-4) and Kansas City Chiefs (9-5) are just behind with three weeks left in the regular season and the Ravens are going to be truly tested beginning this week on the road.
San Francisco has the second-best offense in total yards per game (402.6) with MVP candidate Brock Purdy leading the way while it has the second-best defense in points per game allowed (16.7).
Harbaugh may just get his Christmas wish, however. Baltimore has earned its way to being the AFC's top seed as it boasts the league's best rushing attack (163.8 yards per game) and is allowing the least points per game (16.1).
Nonetheless, this game will be, without a doubt, the team's toughest matchup of the season. That's why many believe it could be a preview of Super Bowl LVIII.
QB Lamar Jackson is certainly going to do his best to help Harbaugh's wish come true.
"We're locked in. I believe we just had a great practice," Jackson told reporters. "We're still focused on keeping it one game at a time."
It may be the season of giving but it's highly unlikely the 49ers want to be that giving this year. The Ravens will have to earn it just as they have all season, but maybe a little holiday spirit can help push them to a win.
