Ravens' Isaiah Likely To Have Surgery on Broken Foot

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is set to have surgery this week after suffering a small fracture in his foot during Tuesday's training camp practice sources tell ESPN.

The injury occurred in a non-contact play as Likely was running a route against a safety. He was carted off the field and limped into the locker room.

Likely will miss the rest of training camp and, if all goes well, could return in time for the Ravens' Sept. 7 game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 - just over five weeks away.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport says Likely's initial timetable to return is set for six weeks, but with a strong chance to be sooner. The best news is that this is not expected to cut deep into the season.

Thankfully, the Ravens have a surplus at the position, as another premier tight end Mark Andrews is healthy entering the season. In ESPN's front office poll ranking each position, Andrews ranked as the sixth-best tight end in the league, while Likely debuted on the list at No. 8. Baltimore was the only team with two representers on the list.

Likely, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract, which could set him up for a massive pay day this offseason if he continues to play at a high level. He set career highs in receptions (42), yards (477), and touchdowns (6) in 2024.

Andrews, 28, is also entering the final year of his contract, setting Baltimore up for a monumental decision on the future of their tight end group.

However, the duo has been instrumental together in the Ravens' dynamic offense. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson utilized both players' unique skillsets to the tune of 17 combined touchdowns catches last season - the most of any tight end combo in the NFL.

If the former fourth-round pick Likely is forced to miss Week 1, Andrews and Charlie Kolar will fill out the rest of the depth chart.
