Much like Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, quarterback and reigning regular-season Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson noticed the online complaint filed by wide receiver Marquise Brown following Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"(W)hat's the point of having souljas when you never use them (Never!!)," Brown wrote on Twitter after he recorded one catch, a three-yard touchdown pass from Jackson, in the losing effort.
Jackson put the blame on himself while speaking with reporters on Wednesday.
"That's one of our key players to our offense," Jackson explained, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN. "I want to get him the ball, the easiest way and fastest way we can. I have to do a better job of getting it to him."
Brown caught five of six passes thrown his way for 101 yards in the Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns but hasn't reached the 100-yard mark since. His score against Pittsburgh was only his second TD of the campaign.
"He's a big part of our offense. We need him," Jackson added. "So, we got to be better at that, and we'll be fine."
Harbaugh defended the outspoken receiver earlier in the week:
"He did play the game like a soldier. He was fighting very hard out there. I promise you we're trying to use all of our guys. He's probably a little frustrated. He's not a selfish guy. I don't believe he is for one second. If he was, he wouldn't play as hard as he did or be the good guy that he is around the building."
Jackson also spoke about veteran receiver Dez Bryant, who joined Baltimore's practice squad last week.
"He's dialed-in to the playbook. He wants to compete," Jackson said. "I just can't wait for him to get out there with us on Sundays."
