Ravens land 'polished' WR in latest mock draft

The Ravens are going to add a receiver to their roster this offseason and NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks has them doing it in his latest mock draft.

Brooks has Baltimore selecting Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba with pick No. 22 in the 2023 NFL Draft.

"Smith-Njigba is a polished pass catcher with the route-running skills and hands to thrive against one-on-one coverage at the next level," Brooks writes.

There has been a lot of discussion about who the top receiver is in this year's draft and Smith-Njigba could work his way to being that player. He only played in three games this season but posted 95 catches for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021.

The 21-year-old currently ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 20 overall prospect on its big board and if he's still available at No. 22, the Ravens may just luck out.

General manager Eric DeCosta already gave a sneak peek into Baltimore's plans at the NFL Combine, saying the team is going to "keep swinging" at drafting receivers.

Whether or not the Ravens will use their first-round pick on one is unknown with free agency right around the corner. But after ranking as the third-worst team in the league in receiving yards and not having a receiver eclipse 500 yards in 2022, Smith-Njigba may be the piece Baltimore is missing.
