Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith has shown how high his football IQ is. However, he has a high IQ in another non-football-related topic.
Baltimore's defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald was recently quizzed by Smith on his geography knowledge.
"He challenged me to name all of the oceans the other day, and I nailed it. But apparently, there's a Southern Ocean now that I was not aware of," Macdonald told reporters. "He said he's a big geography buff, and I was like 'Oh yeah? Let's see what you've got.'"

Smith is all business on the football field, but he takes geography pretty seriously too.
"He did Google it and there is one. I guess it's the Antarctic Ocean. So, who knows? I wasn't studying the oceans the last few years," Macdonald stated.
The fifth-year linebacker hasn't been shy in showing his true self to his new team.
"He's not afraid to let his personality shine, which is great," Macdonald added. "He's obviously comfortable in his own skin and we love him for it. And just his personality on a day-to-day basis is a great guy to be around."

The Ravens (9-4) seem to be gelling and getting better every week. Maybe Smith's geography lessons are bringing the team closer together.
"The inner workings of a defensive team room," Macdonald finished laughing.
Plus, exercising the mind outside of football can't be a bad thing either.
