It's been a tough days for the Baltimore Ravens' 2025 NFL Draft class if you're a cornerback. The Ravens, as they are known to do, invested heavily in this year's draft. In the sixth-round alone, the Ravens logged five choices — two of them were cornerbacks. And now, just a few days after the team lost rookie corner Bilhal Kone to a season-ending knee injury in the team's preseason opener, Baltimore is now down another sixth-round cornerback from this year's class.

The team officially ended Robert Longerbeam's season over the weekend, placing the rookie on injured reserve, opening up a roster spot for free agent running back Myles Gaskin.

Thanks to Baltimore's veteran additions to the cornerback room, there may not be much of a 53-man roster impact for the Ravens out of this development. Baltimore still has Marlon Humphrey, Jaire Alexander , Nate Wiggins, Chidobe Awuzie, second-year corner TJ Tampa, and Jalyn Armour-Davis all available — that group of six should be considered the front runners to make the roster. Undrafted rookie Keyon Martin may have something to say about it, but his competition is now significantly whittled down as Longerbeam joins Kone as late-round rookies who will spend their first season in Baltimore on injured reserve.

Longerbeam, a long and twitchy but undersized cornerback out of Rutgers, would likely benefit this upcoming year from stacking some added mass onto his frame. He weighed in at just 175 pounds at the 2025 NFL Combine and would surely benefit from some added body armor to help him with the rigors of life in the NFL.

We'll see what the future holds for him, but what has been described as a knee injury by the team ensures that it will be a while before we see him in action again.
