The Ravens have one of the most talented rushing attacks in the NFL with Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and quarterback Lamar Jackson all threats on the ground. And according to offensive coordinator Greg Roman, the Ravens will use their plethora of rushing weapons to keep opponents guessing, as they do not have any clear strategy when it comes to who gets carries and who doesn't.
"There's no exact science there," Roman said, per The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. "It's going to be different every week. We like to keep people guessing, so it will happen the way it happens."
In their win over the Browns, Jackson led the team with 45 yards rushing, while Ingram had 29 yards and Dobbins had 22. Ingram said that as long as the team keeps winning, he's not concerned about the number of carries he's given.
"I don't care if I have one carry for one yard," Ingram said while he was mic'd up during the win. "If it's 38-6 every time, you won't hear (expletive) from me ... We got three dogs in the backfield. We stayin' fresh as Huggies. Fresh."
The Ravens had the most dominant rushing attack in NFL history last season, but the team actually struggled to do much damage on the ground in Week 1, as Ingram and Dobbins both averaged about 3 yards per carry. However, they should be primed to bounce back this week in their game against the Houston Texans, who allowed the Chiefs to rush for more than 160 yards.
