Ravens QB Lamar Jackson responds to 'threat' from AEW wrestler Chris Jericho

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has responded to a "threat" made by All Elite Wrestling star Chris Jericho.

"I got called out!" Jackson told reporters while referencing a promo Jericho cut during Wednesday's edition of the "AEW Dynamite" television show, as noted by Grant Gordon of the NFL's website. "I wasn't thinking he was going to call me out, you know, Chris Jericho called me out. I didn't really hear what he said at first and then they told me and I started laughing, I'm like this man is crazy. I enjoyed it though because growing up I was a huge fan of wrestling."

Jericho, the current Ring of Honor world champion, vowed at the Chesapeake Arena in Baltimore on Wednesday that he would "even whip Lamar Jackson's ass!" as part of an open challenge:

Jackson, in attendance, initially "looked nervous" after hearing Jericho's claim, per the television commentary.

Jacksonville Jaguars chief football strategy officer Tony Khan owns and runs AEW and, thus, has featured multiple football personalities in segments throughout the promotion's existence. Former Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer once "allowed" Jericho to use a laptop as a weapon during a brawl that spilled into Meyer's office:

Jericho is widely viewed as a WWE legend and could one day return to that promotion, possibly to face Jackson in a "WrestleMania" match.

Whether it's in AEW or WWE, it seems the one-time NFL Most Valuable Player has his first opponent lined up if he ever decides he wants to step into the squared circle for more than just an interview or photo op.
