Ravens’ Rashod Bateman Arrested On Family Violence Charge

The child was in the vehicle when Bateman allegedly used an object, according to authorities, to break the windshield and driver’s side window of a 2021 Mercedes-Benz. An arrest warrant indicates the alleged victim suffered multiple lacerations to her face from the glass breaking.

“We are aware of the situation involving Rashod and have been in direct communication with him,” the Ravens said in a statement. “We notified the league office and have been cooperating throughout the process. As this is a pending legal matter, we will not have further comment.”

This alleged incident occurred around 6am ET on June 3, according to the unidentified woman. An officer indicated, according to the arrest warrant, the woman suffered multiple face contusions. Arrest documents note the child was in a backseat at the time of the alleged incident. Bateman surrendered to authorities in Walton County (Ga.) that day.

Bateman, 26, has been participating in Ravens training camp. The former first-round pick is entering his sixth NFL season. Baltimore allowed Bateman to speak with teams regarding a trade during the 2025 offseason, but the team circled back and signed him to a three-year, $36.75MM extension. No guaranteed money is on the deal beyond 2026, removing any guarantee-voiding element — in the event of a suspension under the league’s personal conduct policy — from this situation.

Impressing after the Ravens let Odell Beckham Jr. walk in free agency two years ago, Bateman was ineffective in 2025. After his career-best 2024 season — which featured 756 receiving yards and nine touchdown receptions — Bateman totaled just 224 yards in 13 games. A March trade rumor involving Bateman emerged, but the Ravens retained their No. 2 receiver. This situation obviously offers a complication for Bateman, who is currently on track to maintain his starting role alongside Zay Flowers in Baltimore.
