Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell Recognized by NFL For Stellar Game
USA TODAY SPORTS

Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell was voted the NFL's FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his game against the Seattle Seahawks

Mitchell completely dominated the Seahawks defense on the ground, turning just nine carries into 138 rushing yards and a touchdown. The touchdown, which was the first of his NFL career, came at the end of the third quarter with the Ravens up 23-3.

He took a handoff from Lamar Jackson and broke through a tackle before hitting the open field and bursting past multiple Seattle defenders on his way to the end zone. The 40-yard touchdown run put the dagger in the Seahawks with Baltimore taking a 30-3 lead.

For the 21-year-old running back, it was just his third appearance in an NFL game. In London against the Tennessee Titans, he did not record a single stat during the game. In a blowout win over the Detroit Lions, he had his first NFL touch, a reception for nine yards. Now, against Seattle, Mitchell has had his breakout, showing off his elite speed and elusiveness to the tune of two runs of 40 or more yards.

Mitchell joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina University. While at East Carolina, he worked his way to becoming third in rushing yards all-time in school history with 3,027 yards in just three seasons. Both of the running backs ahead of him reached their totals in four seasons.

Next up for Baltimore is an AFC North matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.
