The Baltimore Ravens fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 37-20 in a high-powered Week 4 matchup. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had his worst game of the season, completing 14-of-20 passes for 147 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed for 48 yards.

Now sitting with a 1-3 record, Baltimore is in serious danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2021. To make matters worse, they're also dealing with several key injuries.

That includes Jackson, the Ravens' two-time MVP winner, as he was pulled out in their loss to the Chiefs due to a hamstring injury, while backup Cooper Rush filled in.

Ravens Receive Lamar Jackson Update

The Ravens face off against the Houston Texans for a Week 5 matchup, and with the possibility of dropping to 1-4, their season could be on the line.

Unfortunately, during Baltimore's first practice of the week on Wednesday, ESPN's Jamison Hensley reported that Jackson was not participating.

Under their four-time Pro Bowler, the Ravens have established one of the NFL's best offenses. Through four games, they rank third in points per game (32.8) and 13th in total yards per game (338).

However, much of that can be credited to Jackson, who has completed 68-of-95 passes for 869 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception. His 166 rushing yards and one touchdown have also been impressive.

What This Means for the Ravens' Offense

Potentially having to instead rely on Rush, who in his eight-year career has thrown for just 3,515 yards, 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, means the offensive unit as a whole could take a major step back.

Though that does mean the Ravens would rely on their run game much more and specifically running back Derrick Henry. He had just eight rushing attempts against the Chiefs, marking his lowest of the season.

With Rush potentially filling in for Jackson, that would likely see a big spike against a Texans defense that ranks No. 1 in points per game allowed (12.8).

With or without Jackson, though, the Ravens are going into a critical matchup against Houston that could have major impacts on their playoff fate.
