Ravens release two-time All-Pro RB Le'Veon Bell

The Baltimore Ravens released veteran running back Le'Veon Bell on Tuesday, just one month after he was signed to the active roster.

Bell shared a tweet about his release shortly after the news broke.

The three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro was signed to the Ravens practice squad in early September, was activated for Week 4 against the Denver Broncos and was signed to the active roster on Oct. 19. Bell played in five games with Baltimore, including each of the last four, and recorded 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries and just one reception on three targets for -3 yards.

Bell spent this fall as a member of a crowded Ravens backfield filled with aging backs that also included Latavius Murray (31 years old) and Devonta Freeman (29). 25-year-old back Ty'Son Williams earned three starts at the beginning of the year but fell out of favor with the Baltimore coaching staff despite putting up some solid numbers.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson has again been the Ravens most active and dynamic rusher, as he leads the team in both rushing attempts (106) and rushing yards (639) by a wide margin.
