The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best offenses in the NFL, because they have two players who are arguably the best at their positions in Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. With Jackson and Henry leading the way, as well as several other talented players in the other position groups, the Ravens offense will consistently elevate them to contender status.
While Jackson and Henry are the engine and battery that make everything go, they wouldn’t be able to do their parts without help from their teammates. Of course, everyone understands that, and that’s why the offensive line and pass catchers always get their praise, but there’s someone else who is an important piece to the offense but never gets recognized: Justice Hill.
That changed on Wednesday when Ravens running back coach Willie Taggart praised Hill and explained to media members how valuable he is to the operation of Baltimore’s offense. Taggart referred to the veteran running back as someone who does everything for the team, excelling in his role and as a teammate. The experienced coach then went on to say that Henry’s success last season wouldn’t have been possible without the presence of Hill helping him along.

This may seem like hyperbole considering how great a player Henry already is, but there are a lot of nuances to joining a new team and new offense. As the coach of the position group, Taggart certainly knows how Hill helped bring Henry along.
Beyond how he contributes as a teammate, Hill still makes his own plays, carrying the ball 47 times last season for 228 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 42 receptions for 383 yards and three additional touchdowns. His best skill, though, is one that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, and that’s blocking. Hill loves to block and he’s elite at it, and Baltimore’s offense wouldn’t function without good blocking.
Hill will continue to play his role in a loaded backfield, and help the Ravens as they try to reach their goal of a Super Bowl victory.
