The Baltimore Ravens are looking to make a run at a championship during the 2025 NFL season. After being a legitimate contender last season, there are reasons to be optimistic about their chances this year.

On Wednesday, the Ravens took another step in the right direction. They were able to sign former Green Bay Packers' star cornerback Jaire Alexander to a one-year, $6 million contract.

Alexander has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL since being drafted with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. His addition will help take Baltimore's secondary to the next level, assuming he can stay healthy.

Following the move to sign Alexander, the Ravens sent a two-word message about the addition.

"Got him," the post read.

While the move could be a huge step towards a Super Bowl, there are some concerns. Alexander has been unable to stay on the field due to health issues over the last two years.

In each of the last two seasons, Alexander has played in just seven games. He will need to figure out how to stay healthy in order to make the impact Baltimore desires from him.

During the 2024 NFL season, Alexander made the most of his seven games. He racked up 16 total tackles to go along with a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes. Those numbers give reason to hope that he can still be one of the league's top cornerbacks.

It has been reported that Alexander turned down more money elsewhere to play for the Ravens. He will be rejoining his former college teammate, Lamar Jackson. Both stars played their college football at Louisville.

Now that the move is official, all fans will be waiting to see what Alexander can bring to the field following his divorce with the Packers.
