Ravens TE's Isaiah Likely, Charlie Kolar Key to Covering Mark Andrews Loss

The Baltimore Ravens brain trust is still trying to figure out ways to cover the loss of All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews, who is now out for the season after suffering cracked fibula and ankle ligament damage.

It seems like a herculean task, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh stated it would take everyone on the team to cover the loss of Andrews.

"It's going to take everybody, it's going to take a team to do it, and our guys will be up for the challenge," Harbaugh said.

Everybody includes young tight ends Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar. Both haven't had a lot of production this season, as Likely (9 rec, 89 yards) and Kolar (1 rec, 13 yards) have been behind Andrews in the pecking order.

Well, that will now change. Likely seems to be the one who will take up the TE1 position as he has shown this season to be a reliable pass catcher in Todd Monken's offense.

His four-catch, 42-yard game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9 showed his talents, as did his eight catches for 103 yards vs. the Bengals in Week 18 last season, and now, with Andrews out of the picture, expect Likely to see his fair share of targets.

As for Kolar, in the Week 18 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, he had four catches for 49 yards, and he, too, can expect some increased playing time.

The idea is that both will be able to help fill the void left by Andrews and gain some crucial experience in the process.
