Ravens veteran lineman announces NFL retirement after 11 seasons

Baltimore Ravens veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm announced his retirement Friday, ending his 11-season NFL career just days after joining the team, which subsequently placed him on the reserve/retired list.

Lamm, 34, signed with Baltimore earlier in August after Hakeem Adeniji was also placed on the reserve/retired list. The Ravens brought Lamm in to add experience behind starting tackles Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten, but he left the team before playing in a preseason game. His short stint in Baltimore lasted less than two weeks.

An undrafted free agent from Appalachian State in 2015, Lamm spent his NFL career with the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins. He played both offensive tackle positions and spent the previous four seasons with the Dolphins, appearing in 13 games during the 2025 season.

Lamm’s retirement leaves the Orioles with another decision to make regarding their offensive tackle depth. Carson Vinson, a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, is backing up Stanley, while Gerad Lichtenhan and undrafted rookie Diego Pounds remain options at tackle. Emery Jones Jr., a 2024 third-round pick, also has experience at right tackle after starting there for three seasons at LSU, although he has primarily worked at guard with Baltimore.

The Ravens have now seen two veteran offensive tackles retire shortly after joining the team. Adeniji signed at the end of July and stepped away after about a week of training camp, while Lamm’s departure came less than two weeks after his arrival.

Baltimore can use the preseason to evaluate its remaining options, particularly behind Rosengarten on the right side. The Ravens could determine whether their current group can provide adequate depth before considering another veteran addition.
