Ravens Waive OLB Adisa Isaac

The Ravens are releasing 2024 third-rounder Adisa Isaac, as CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz was first to report. Isaac, like David Ojabo before him, was a high-upside Day 2 draftee whose health never allowed him to realize his potential in Baltimore.

Isaac, who will turn 25 in October, missed minicamp and OTAs as a rookie due to a hamstring ailment, and he ultimately played in just four games in his first season in the NFL. He tallied four tackles and was held without a sack in his limited action.

He then suffered a dislocated elbow during a preseason game last August, and though his subsequent placement on injured reserve included a return designation, he never got back on the field. He started this year’s training camp on the active/PUP list, but despite being activated shortly after camp began, he never gained much momentum towards making the Ravens’ 53-man roster.

However, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network says other teams will have interest in a high-upside player whose early pro career has been derailed by health issues. It would not be surprising if Isaac were claimed off waivers, as he is due just $1.31MM this season and $1.57MM in 2027.

In addition to Hendrickson and Young, the Ravens are also rostering promising second-year EDGE Mike Green and fourth-year defender Tavius Robinson. Meanwhile, UDFA rookie Ethan Burke has enjoyed an excellent preseason, and it appears Isaac’s release has paved the way for the Texas product to survive cutdown day.
