The Chicago Bears dominated the 2025 season, capturing the NFC North title and advancing to the playoffs, where they defeated the Green Bay Packers. Although the chemistry between quarterback Caleb Williams and new head coach Ben Johnson fueled much of the Bears’ success, key additions to both the offensive and defensive lines also made a big impact. Furthermore, the team enjoyed an outstanding 2025 draft, which yielded multiple contributors who played significant roles throughout the season.
Several Chicago Bears’ 2025 draft picks fueled a Bears offense that ranked in the Top-10 in the NFL. Tight end Colston Loveland became an important red-zone target and reliable pass-catcher, while wide receiver Luther Burden provided explosive plays on the perimeter and helped stretch defenses. Loveland caught 58 passes for 713 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Burden recorded 47 receptions for 652 yards and 2 touchdowns.
| Round | Pick | Player | Position | College |
| 1 | 10 | Colston Loveland | TE | Michigan |
| 2 | 39 | Luther Burden III | WR | Missouri |
| 2 | 56 | Ozzy Trapilo | OT | Boston College |
| 2 | 62 | Shemar Turner | DT | Texas A&M |
| 4 | 132 | Ruben Hyppolite II | LB | Maryland |
| 5 | 169 | Zah Frazier | CB | UTSA |
| 6 | 195 | Luke Newman | OG | Holy Cross |
| 7 | 233 | Kyle Monangai | RB | Rutgers |
In addition to Loveland and Burden becoming significant contributors during their rookie season, Chicago also benefited from finding solid linemen on both sides of the ball. While offensive line Ozzy Trapilo was not a Day 1 starter for the Bears, he played a vital role after the Bears suffered an injury to their left tackle Braxton Jones. Trapilo stepped in during Week 12 and stabilized the blindside for the Bears’ offense. In addition, defensive tackle Shemar Turner showed flashes of being a solid rotational player for the Bears’ defensive line, but a torn ACL cut his season short.
The X-factor of the Bears’ 2025 draft was running back Kyle Monangai, who helped establish a dominant one-two punch in the running game alongside D’Andre Swift. Both Swift and Monangai were able to run for over 750 yards, and Monangai’s 176-yard performance against the Cincinnati Bengals demonstrates that he could be a starter as a running back in the NFL. Picking up a running back that can rush for 783 yards in the seventh-round of the draft is a testament to the scouting department for the Chicago Bears and GM Ryan Poles.
Through great scouting and a consistent policy of drafting the best available player, the Bears assembled a draft that complemented the other roster changes they made in the offseason. The result for the Bears’ offense was a dominant run game and an offensive line that reduced Caleb Williams’ quarterback sack rate from 10.8% to 4.1%, the largest improvement in the NFL. During the 2026 draft, the Bears need to continue selecting high-value picks to build on the foundation of young, hungry players in Chicago.
